I've read a few posts on various pagan tribes of late that trouble me. People are asking for spells to help with common sense circmstances, such as getting a potential employer to call or, worse yet, help to sptop threatening and obnoxious phone calls from an assailant. I am definitely one to use spells, charms, chants, hedonistic voodoo tactics and aeven a curse or two to get things taken care of when need be, but sometimes common sense kicks in and says HEY, PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL SOMEONE BACK...or maybe file a protection order and change your freaking phone number. Sarcasm may be spewing here, but you can't fix EVERYTHING through witchcraft.

Re: When witchcraft overcomes common sense
Wed, April 2, 2008 - 7:56 AMYou could also incorporate your witchcraft into your practical steps. :)
Like bless the restraining order with a protection spell, burn certain candles while you job hunt (I've done this), or write down your intentions and check them every night to make sure you're accomplishing those things. Practical magic is important to focus your direction but should not be used in place of actual physical work. -

Re: When witchcraft overcomes common sense
Sun, April 6, 2008 - 5:33 PMIt only really gets on my nerves when someone comes to me wanting a spell and then whines about having to do some work on their part. Or they come sniveling back to me saying "it didn't work".
"Well did you do what I told you to do?"
"Well kind of....maybe not exactly like you told me......well maybe not really at all."
"Then that's why it didn't work."
Chances are the people that throw aside common sense and want witchcraft to solve their issue are probably the same kind of people that buy diet pills yet never learn healthy habits. -

Re: When witchcraft overcomes common sense
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 4:03 AMUh-huh. Most times I find that someone is really looking for someone else to resolve their problem for them rather than them having to do anything about it themselves. It is this childish outlook on life that aggravates me to no end. Whether they're asking for spells or money...it's the concept. -
